(International CES, Las Vegas, Nevada – January 9, 2012)
The Smart Office Phone has been named one of the “Best of CES Innovations 2012” and is described by it’s inventors as the first “plug and play professional phone.”
Small office and home office managers (SOHO’s) will likely be interested in the Smart Office Phone from Invoxia, a French high-tech business founded by Eric Carreel, Serge Renouard and Jackques Lewiner in 2010 and specializing in telecommunication devices.
No need to contact a phone company. No need for major planning or price quotes with business growth projections in mind. The system is flexible, easy to use and can grow with you.
These devices with superior sound quality and easy plug-in installation, including IP telephone technology, will soon be sold at an office supply store near you.
Invoxia handles the VoIP service billing and bystreamlining the sales and distribution process is able to pass savings along to the customer. We haven’t seen the rate card yet, but it just might be promising for businesses looking for cost savings and mobility.
The phones use iOS devices as an interface for communications and the 8-broad-spectrum speakers and up to 8 digital microphones in “conference” mode makes group calls easier, more accessible and improves sound quality. The calls can be answered on either a mobile device or on the landline.
And forget complicated instructions for features you’ll ever use. The Smart Phone is simple. Keys for incoming calls, volume adjustment, mute and voicemail do pretty much everything you’ll need.
The Smart Office Phone system is available from www.invoxia.com for $599 (excluding tax) and is compatible with the iPod touch (3rd and 4th generation), iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 2 and iPad. Seems like a slightly steep price, but it may be worth it if it makes your business communications sound as professional as the big guys.
To see and try the Smart Office Phone during CES, visit booth #6406 in the North Hall or visit www.invoxia.com.

January 6, 2012 – 2012 from the International CES Show in Las Vegas, Nevada
This article first appeared (authored by me) on Technorati.com here: http://technorati.com/technology/gadgets/article/lapkeyboard-from-seewright-perfect-for-jammie/
Superstars such as Justin Bieber, Dennis Rodman and Miss America (Miss America?) will make special appearances and companies such as Panasonic, Fox Home Entertainment, LG, Sony, NVIDIA, Ford, etc., are juggling their event guest lists.
Over 2,700 innovative exhibitors and 140,000 attendees from 140 countries will pack the aisles like spawning lemmings. I’ll be elbowing for information along with 5,000 other media and analysts.
How do I cope? Well, for now, I write from bed in my jammies! Yes, I confess. I sometimes do my best writing from the goose down.
So, here I am wading through hundreds of press releases from PR/Marketing friends all trying to make sure that I have what I need to do my job: Information. There are new patents, compelling games, the latest high tech necessities and some stuff that makes your jaw drop.
How on earth do I decide what to write about and who to talk to when there is only one of me and so much news?
What is my response? I’ve taken to my bed and am having a hot cup of tea with lemon as I ponder the future of electronics.
But wait! Here’s something….the LapKeyBoard from SeeWright Productions. Could this be my one of my first Fav Gadgets from 2012 CES?
Guess I’ll have to get out of bed and wander over to the booth to try it out. I think it will go great with my jammies and it will keep my MacBook from burning up my lap while I write the Great American Novel.
For further information on the ergonemetric LapKeyboard visit http://www.lapkeyboard.com or stop by Booth #73505 in the Bellini Ballroom at CES.

(International CES, Las Vegas, Nevada – January 9, 2012)
Although Canon U.S.A., Inc is showing numerous new models of their ever-popular consumer-targeted still and video cameras during the 2012 International CES. their professional work-horses, the EOS 7D and EOS 5D Mark II are still the big-daddies for most pros.
What better way to showcase the amazing images that can be created using the best of this Canon gear than to highlight them at the premiere of a mind-blowing music video with the music of one of the world’s most beloved musicians, Herbie Hancock.
The crowd-sourced video features the music of legendary jazz great, Herbie Hancock and his now-classic hit, “Chameleon.” The song was written in collaboration with Bennie Maupin, Paul Jackson and Harvey Mason and was originally performed in the 1973 album “Head Hunters” released by Columbia Records.
“Chameleon” has become one of the world’s most recognized jazz melodies, and combined with breathtaking imagery from Canon, has resulted in a work that may just offer some of the most entertaining few minutes you can spend on the CES show floor.
Over 1,800 hi-res images were taken by attendees at Canon’s “Legends in Imaging” concert in October of 2011 with the Canon EOS7D and EOS 5D Mark 11 cameras. Hancock performed at the event and Canon took the images shot by their guests, printed them with the Pixma Pro-1 professional printer and edited them in post using time-lapse and traditional stop-motion film techniques.
It is a regular tradition to stop by Canon’s booth at all trade shows, because their videos are a must-see and always inspiring, but this particular work is a not-to-be-missed one of a kind event.
If you are at CES this week, you can see the music video at the Canon Booth #13304 in the Central Hall or go to http://www.facebook.com/CanonUSA for more information.
The “Head Hunters” album is available on Amazon or iTunes.

Is Nikon taking a marketing tip from Apple and employing the freak-n-leak-technique?
Sipping coffee on this cold Berlin morning, I came across an interesting photo. The Nikon webmasters are 1) in trouble for posting the wrong pic or 2) are simply following orders from marketing and creating even more buzz for the long-awaited D800 DSLR.
Either way, the picture on Vlad Sayoy’s post at http://www.theverge.com/2012/1/6/2686643/nikon-unannounced-pro-dslr-on-german-website revealed an official image of the D800 that has been on our wish lists since 2008.
Take a look at the second camera from the right:
This gaffe from the folks Nikon.de might prove that we are one-step closer to D800-Day. Followers believe that this D800 über-DSLR will be released at the upcoming 2012 International CES in Vegas January 10-13 http://www.cesweb.org/ or at CP+ in Japan February 9-12 http://www.cpplus.jp/en/
Featuring a 36 MP sensor (7360×4912), 100% viewfinder coverage and auto-focus utilizing 51 points, this DSLR boasts an ISO range of 100-6400, according to our favorite Nikon Rumors site http://ndikonrumors.com/2011/12/22/upcoming-nikon-products-all-you-need-to-know-recap.aspx/
I’ll call Nikon, but I don’t think they’re talking yet, and a visit to their site pro-product page at http://www.nikon.de gives me an error message that the site is down due to over capacity. So, time for another cup of coffee and another dose of patience.
